Indeed, 2014 and 2015 was not good enough for Oakman since he logged only 4.5 sacks.

Shawn Oakman’s professional career officially had taken place when several mock drafts selected him as the first round pick in 2016 NFL Draft. Oakman was stated as the first overall pick in ‘2016 NFL Mock draft 1.0' in Chris Burke of Sports Illustrated. Later he was criticized by one AFC area scout about his physical appearance and lack of pass-rush technique.
During the Draft time, Oakman was arrested for the sexual assault charge. As his case was not resolved before the Draft, so he got the status ‘undraftable now.'
